Wat Pho

Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan (aka Wat Pho), in the Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok, Thailand was first established in the 16th century and later re-established in 1801. Known for its large reclining Buddha, the temple is also home to information about medicine and to many statues of Reusis depicting Reusi Dat Ton postures. Reusis are spiritual ascetics and keepers of the natural sciences, such as medicine. These statues preserve some of the knowledge or Reusi Dat Ton, a practice system for health used by the Reusis. RDT is also thought by some to be the origin of Thai massage.
