Six Season Causative Factors
Today (January 13th, 2025) is the full moon of the second lunar month, Phussa. And in Samutthaan Winicchai's six season causative factors model, this marks some major shifts.
Hemanta, the fifth season, is over. Sisira, the sixth season, begins now. We are midway through the cold part of the year*.
Semha has been present as a causative factor for ~120 days. Now it manifests at the peak of its influence and will remain the dominant causative factor for the rest of the season.
Waata has been present as a causative factor for ~240 days. It has diminished to nothing and disappears as a causative factor for the next two seasons.
With the peak manifestation of Semha and the complete diminishing of Waata, Bpitta now appears as the secondary cauative factor. It's influence is very weak, but must be taken into account.
For the next ~20 days, until the sixth day of the waxing moon of Māgha, Semha is the dominant elemental causative factor and Saw Semha is the jao reuan. Bpitta is secondary, and Ura Semha is tertiary.
*Remember that dividing the year into three major sections (hot, rainy, and cold) is specific to Thailand's climate.
